Welcome to the Nature of Cities Festival 2024! A gathering to get inspired, to learn, to present, collaborate, or to meet hundreds of new best friends and urban nature co-conspirators. The Berlin segment is an all-inclusive multi-day experience featuring field-trips, in person talks, workshops, art interventions, a film festival, Farm-to-Table dinners, various opportunities for socializing, and much more. All of it takes place at the Atelier Gardens venue, and various other locations around Berlin.

Stephanie Wunder leads the work on sustainable diets at Agora Agriculture - The think tank for food, agriculture, and forestry – since 2022. She previously worked at the Ecologic Institute as the Coordinator of Sustainable Food Systems and Land Use Policy for over 15 years. Stephanie has worked on numerous national and European projects at the science-policy interface on issues related to the transformation of food systems, including the reduction of food waste, the promotion of plant-based diets, and the design of national and regional food strategies.

Marthe Derkzen is a researcher and lecturer at the Health & Society group of Wageningen University & Research. She studies green citizen initiatives, healthy living environments, and climate adaptation - all from a social justice perspective.

Michelberger: A private room. 30 seats. Come experience an elevated dinner at the Michelberger Hotel restaurant, sourced with local products from a trusted network of sustainable farmers, hunters and suppliers and out of their own Michelberger Farm - a food forest in Spreewald/Brandenburg. The food is seasonally-driven and guided by what nature has to offer. We'll have a private room and 3 courses and drinks to enjoy! Plus short talks by the restauranteur and Ferne Edwards. Requires a special ticket.
Dr. Ferne Edwards is a cultural anthropologist who specialises in just and sustainable cities, food systems and social change. Her research includes conducting ethnographies on food waste, urban beekeeping, alternative food economies, food sovereignty, food sharing and food policy networks in Australia, Venezuela, Spain, Norway and the UK.
