Dr Kim Mortega is a scientist at the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin. Her interdisciplinary work focusses on research, environmental education and science communication for biodiversity. The current project ‘Understanding biodiversity – explore and experience nature’ (Vielfalt Verstehen – Natur erforschen und erleben) focuses on creating a positive relationship with nature. The aim is to establish a concept that connects education and research in order to study Berlin's biodiversity in time and space and to create identification with nature among the Berlin population. Kim Mortega has been combining science and art in a variety of projects for many years. The integration of diverse perspectives, ideas and thoughts and a collaborative framework that fosters such an exchange are important to her – Because we can all learn from each other.
