Vanya Bisht
University of Waterloo
Postdoctoral Fellow
Canada
I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow associated with the Future Cities initiative in the School of Planning at the University of Waterloo, Canada. My research centers on the theme of epistemic justice and epistemic pluralism. I am interested in developing research tools for understanding diverse knowledge systems, perspectives and approaches to environmental challenges and governance. Building bridges, especially among conflicting dominant, alternative, and hidden perspectives drives me, and I am always excited about exploring creative methodologies in my research.
To learn more about my work, read my paper on polarizing discourses on forest rights policies in India from my PhD research [1] and my work with community organizations in South Phoenix, Arizona on
barrio innovation [2].
